The game mechanics and behaviors are changed with mods and, also, a mod conflict can have any kind of broken behavior. What happens if you select your doctor character and then right click on the pawn you want treated? If there is a problem prioritizing giving the medical attention you'll likely see a message at this point that will lead you in the right direction. INEVITABLY, with severe injuries, the victim is going to die, every time, because there are ZERO clear instructions about what to do, because I have done everything that I know to do, and I can not be the only person absolutely frustrated about this. Anyway, I go to "Bills" for the victim, and all that I see are choices to amputate-and-replace, euthanize, anesthetize, and give various drugs, BUT NOT FOR GIVING MEDICINE!!! I have my doctor-character's priority-for-doctor-skill at 1, and the other choices at 2 or higher, meaning lower-priority, WHICH MEANS THAT HE SHOULD BE ACTING AS A DOCTOR, BUT THAT IS NOT HAPPENING. I, then, check-off the boxes saying indicating what needs "Just a doctor no medicine", and/or "Use best medicine", and that should be it, right?! NOTHING HAPPENS. Let me give you an example: a Character or, ESPECIALLY, an attacker, gets injured, and I send him/her to the medical-bed. When your priorities are set perfectly, treating injuries should happen more or less automatically, but you should also be well aware of what is going on and ready to intervene with direct orders if you want to make 100% sure your pawns aren't dying when they could be saved.Īlso, are you a beginner player that is playing on commitment mode, meaning no saves? Might want to reconsider that. Your best Doctor should be at priority one for fixing injured people. You may need to mark your medical beds as normal temporarily if your rescue pawns ignore it.Īs Monoxide said, make sure you have your priorities set up correctly. You can do this by setting down a sleeping spot and marking it as medical. If you have a colonist with very bad injuries, you may need to start their treatment before they are moved to your medical bed. If you do take damage, immediate treatment with appropriate medicines is important. The best healing you can do is killing the enemy before they cause any injuries to your guys. Hint: It's the blue medical bed.Use space bar to pause before, during and after any battle. If not, is there a medical bed open? If so, bring them to the closest one. This is so obviously completely wrong that I honestly can't imagine how anyone who has ever had an injury in the game could hold this belief.įire up the game, shoot someone, and observe where they go. That means that you need to toggle off all better medical beds if you want to force them to be treated in a medical sleeping spot.įrom what I can gather, the priority goes: Is the pawn's own bed open? If so, bring them there. Works for me.That surprises me - the AI picks the best bed (a medical bed miles away instead of a medical sleeping spot nearby) which is reasonable if the injuries are not severe. Make the carrier stop what he was doing and then make him pick the body again. if you order a colonist to rescue a pawn they might end up dragging them towards the enemy and into the line of fire but hey, it's a story generator so it's acceptable when the players end up with severe brain damage from facepalming at the AI). Any ideas on how to fix this?Convince Tynan to allow for direct control of hauling pawns (e.g.
